Botanical Eco Printing on Fabric and Paper with Maeve Kane

Learn about direct contact printing on fabric and paper using leaves and flowers in this three hour workshop. No experience is necessary. In this session we’ll explore how to capture seasonal imprints of natural materials on both paper and fabric. Participants will create a one-of-a-kind print on a piece of cotton quilting yardage (36”x45”) and two paper prints as part of the process. During the workshop we’ll discuss how to identify and collect plant materials that give bright, lasting prints; how to prepare fabric and paper for printing; how to care for materials for a long life; and some related techniques for future exploration.
